Purbach

Purbach is centrally located, the most notable features are the Purbach and Arzachel craters. Part of the Mare Nubium (Sea of Clouds) is located on the west side.

This region is named after the German/Austrian astronomer and mathematician Georg von Peuerbach (1450 AD). He is known as the father of mathematical and observational astronomy in the West.
